Career Gap Identification

 

Increasingly, Control Risks Screening is asked by its clients to identify any employment gaps it uncovers. This provides a useful extension of an outsourced pre-employment screening function.  Clients should be aware of cultural sensitivity in certain jurisdictions in the APAC region around the verification of any apparent gaps or discrepancies in employment history.


 
Company Validation

 

The objective of Company Validation is to mitigate risk by identifying potentially fraudulent employment references disclosed by a candidate.  Through the use of Control Risks Screening approved public and private sources, Control Risks Screening will attempt to verify the company name and address of employment references disclosed by the applicant.

 
CV Verification

 

In jurisdictions where a CV is used as part of the recruitment process, the CV Verification check is used to highlight inconsistencies discovered when comparing the candidate’s CV with the completed screening application form.  Discrepancies noted with regards to the candidate’s employment and education and current address will be reported to the client.


 
Education Verification

 

Education Verification confirms information relevant to an applicant’s academic qualifications with the establishment which the applicant attended/attained the qualification through.  This check is designed to ensure that all employment decisions can be made with an accurate knowledge of the applicant’s academic suitability to the role.
 

Employment (Human Resources)

 

Human Resources Reference verification confirms information relevant to an applicant’s employment history. Control Risks Screening attempts to verify: employment dates; position; reason for leaving; eligibility for rehire; and salary (where appropriate).  Our employment verification service helps to ensure that an applicant actually has the skills and experience necessary to perform the duties required by the hiring position. 

 

Employment (Line Manager)

Performance related questions are posed to line managers in order to obtain additional information that would not usually be disclosed on a standard Human Resources Reference. Line Manager References are usually paired with a Human Resources Reference check.  The reference is obtained verbally using set questionnaires that can be tailored to the requirements of each client and will help to ensure that an applicant actually has the skills and experience necessary to perform the duties required by the hiring position. In certain jurisdictions, Control Risks Screening suggests this type of referencing only be taken up where absolutely necessary due to cultural sensitivity to this kind of check.

 


Professional Qualifications Verifications

 

Professional Qualification Verification confirms information relevant to an applicant’s professional qualifications or membership with the appropriate professional body. This product is designed to ensure that all employment decisions can be made with an accurate knowledge of the applicant’s professional suitability to the role.
